Aims:
To introduce the concept of self-care and wellbeing to the workforce. To understand what resources may be available and to consider how you can take proactive steps to set boundaries, gain insight to how you respond to different situations and ultimately seek a work life balanced and lead a healthier lifestyle.
Learning Outcomes:
- Understand the importance of self-care
- Introduction to secondary trauma
- Introduction to resources and tools to enhance wellbeing
- The Law and the LA duties towards staff
- Health and Safety in the workplace
- Understand what Herefordshire offer in terms of support and assistance.
- Understand processes locally to take care of staff
- Social Work England’s Commitment to staff
- Impact of well-being on ourselves and the children and families we serve.
- Consider the use of effective supervision and its relationships to safe practice and positive outcomes.
- Consider the impact of anxiety and how emotions may impact on staff, critical thinking and decision making.
