Foundations for Attachment

When children have experienced early trauma, building trust and connection takes more than love alone.

Foundations for Attachment is a 4-week course designed specifically for foster carers caring for children who have experienced early trauma, loss or disrupted attachments.

The course explores how these early experiences impact children’s ability to trust, connect and feel safe in relationships – and why traditional parenting approaches may not always be as successful. Through a trauma informed lens, carers will gain practical tools to support emotional regulation, build secure attachments, and create a safe, structured and nurturing home environment.

Foundations for Attachment is suitable for: new foster carers, new placements, low level difficulties, or as a refresher for any previous Attachment and Therapeutic Parenting training.

Please note that this is a six week course and you will be required to attend all six sessions to complete the course.
