Understanding and Assessing Sexual Risk Posed by Offenders to Children

Two day face to face training being offered by Dr Ian Burke – a training program designed to enhance social workers’ understanding of sexual risk posed by offenders to children, including risk and protective factors, and the assessment of non-offending parents’ capacity to protect.

The training will equip you with the knowledge and tools to make informed decisions in safeguarding children.

 Training Objectives:

  • Develop an understanding of sexual offending behaviour and risk factors.
  • Identify protective factors that mitigate risk.
  • Enhance skills in assessing the capacity of non-offending parents/caregivers to protect children.
  • Apply evidence-based approaches to risk assessment and decision-making.
