This is a required safeguarding children course for Designated Safeguarding Leads and Named Professionals. You will gain the knowledge and skills required to lead in a safeguarding role in your organisation.
You should already have a basic understanding of child safeguarding, the legislative framework, types and indicators of abuse and neglect, and how to respond to concerns. If you do not have this knowledge, you should complete the Working Together to Safeguard Children, Level 2 course.
Learning aims
- To understand multi-agency safeguarding children procedures
- To be able to work together effectively to safeguard and promote the well- being of children and young people
- To understand and apply the learning from case reviews
- To place the national legislation into local context
- To understand my role in safeguarding children and how to support my colleagues
- The course also provides a brief refresher on types and signs of child abuse, and relevant legislation
