Aims:

  • To develop an understanding of how coercive and controlling behaviour and isolation impacts on rural victim/survivors of domestic abuse
  • To raise awareness of the gap in service provision in rural areas and the barriers to accessing support
  • Developing subject knowledge through case studies and identifying best practice methods of protection and incident response.
  • To provide an overview of the Specialist Domestic Abuse Service that West Mercia Women’s Aid provides.

Learning Outcome: 

  • For All Social Care Staff to recognise how to meet statutory and legislative duties associated with recognising and reporting cases, managing disclosures and develop subject knowledge.

  • Multi-agency professionals who work with children or adults
