Meet the LADO and learn about allegations against adults who are in a position of trust

This short course will support professionals to understand the role of the Local Authority Designated Officer, and the policies and procedures involved when an allegation has been made against an adult who is in contact with children while in a position of trust.

A LADO referral must be completed where there are concerns that a person who works with children has:

  • Behaved in a way that has harmed a child, or may have harmed a child; or
  • Possibly committed a criminal offence against or related to a child; or
  • Behaved towards a child or children in a way that indicates s/he is unsuitable to work with children; or
  • Behaved or may have behaved in a way that indicates they may not be suitable to work with children.

This course will be presented by Herefordshire’s LADO, Terry Pilliner, who will explain his role and what you need to know about this serious type of allegation.

A cancellation policy will apply. All agencies will be required to pay for cancellations with less than 7 working days’ notice and for on the day no shows. The cancellation charges will be £60 for a full day course and £30 for a half day or less course.
