Course Aim:
To enable participants to understand what Early Permanence and Fostering for Adoption is, how and when is should be considered and the process behind this.
Learning Outcomes:
- To understand what FFA is and why it was introduced and the thinking and reasoning behind early permanence for children
- To identify who the children are and what planning and consideration is needed, including timescales about if and when to consider FFA for a child
- To understand the process and requirements for FFA, what steps need to be taken and the process to obtaining agreement and approval for the FFA placement
- To identify and understand good practice within FFA, remembering that the placement is a foster placement until the Placement Order has been made and the match approved at adoption panel and ratified by the ADM
- To acknowledge the roles and responsibilities of each of the social workers involved within the FFA process
