Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference is a multi-agency meeting designed to consider high risk domestic abuse cases to reduce the risk and keep the victim(s), their family and friends safe. This event is targeted at any professional or practitioner that may come into contact with women, children and men, who may be exposed to and be a victim of domestic abuse.  The event will include: The Background to MARACS, What is a MARAC? MARAC Operating Protocol and Information Sharing Agreement, Completing a Risk Assessment, How to make a MARAC Referral and The Survivor’s voice.

Target Audience

This half day event is for practitioners and managers who have little or no knowledge of Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conferences. It is essential that delegates have a basic understanding of Domestic Abuse.

Course Aim

To develop an enhanced knowledge of the Herefordshire MARAC, the operating protocol and how to make a referral.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course learners will:

  • Have knowledge on how MARAC operates and why the MARAC takes place
  • Know how to make an appropriate MARAC referral
  • Understand how to complete an effective domestic abuse risk assessment
  • Hear the impact MARAC can have on keeping a survivor safer
  • Be aware of the MARAC Information Sharing Agreement and Operating Protocol
  • Have knowledge of what specialist support services are available for survivors of high risk domestic abuse

This is a hybrid event taking place at the Town Hall and Online. There is no cost for attending this course. Refreshments are not provided - so please bring your own.
