This course is for those who are/will be directly engaged with domestic abuse / sexual violence survivors and/or perpetrators. Learners will be equipped to identify, respond and have meaningful conversations with those who harm and those affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence. Interactive sessions will draw directly on the voice of survivors, and use role play and small group work to explore the skills needed to purposefully engage with survivors and perpetrators and facilitate their engagement with specialist services.
Audience - Staff and volunteers working with or potentially working with people engaging in or affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence. Delegates should have a good understanding of domestic abuse and sexual violence.
Learning aims:
- To identify, respond and have meaningful conversations with those who harm and those affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence.
- Build confidence and skill in responding to victims/survivors and perpetrators of domestic abuse and sexual violence.
- Develop skills around professional curiosity and challenge.
- Knowledge of specialist domestic abuse and sexual violence services and their referral pathways
