This course has been designed specifically for foster carers who would like to learn more about the impact fostering has on their family.
Learning outcomes:
- The importance of preparing children ensuring fostering is seen as a positive experience for the whole family and the foster child.
- Understanding fostering from a child's perspective and how to prepare your family.
- Potential difficulties and strategies to manage them.
- Understand the overall experience of having a foster sibling and the enriching aspects of fostering
- Understand the challenges of fostering for both younger children and for adult children
- Understand how to balance the needs of the family
