Family Time

Family Time can be very important in helping children develop their sense of identity and understand their lives.

By the end of the course participants will have discussed:

  • The legal framework
  • The difficulties of contact for carers and birth parents
  • The importance of contact for children
  • Preparing and supporting children who may find contact difficult and emotional.
  • The responsibility of carers to provide the support that has been agreed
  • The expectations for carers to support contact in a range of settings and circumstances when appropriate
  • Any personal challenges and how to plan for this
  • Contact in the digital age-challenges and opportunities
  • A personal development plan to put in place with their Supervising Social Worker
