Legal Training Module 2

This learning activity focuses on parental responsibility (PR) with a particular emphasis on the Local Authority’s duties and responsibilities when sharing parental responsibility with parents/carers.

Case law and a case study (provided in advance to enable group discussion) will allow for careful exploration of the following areas; basic principles and guidance underpinning The Children Act 1989, appropriate use of Section 20 of The Children Act 1989, Informed Consent, an introduction to Delegated Authority and learning from case law designed to improve your practice.

This learning activity is one of six learning activities (modules) being offered by the Social Care Academy as a Legal Training programme. It is expected that workers will attend all six learning activities.
