The essential foundation training in the Signs of Safety practice model for all children’s safeguarding multi-agency professionals in Herefordshire.

This course will enable you to get to know the Signs of Safety approach of working in strengths based way with families and to think through how you can use the Signs of Safety/Wellbeing/Success model in your everyday practice.

Herefordshire Council has adopted Signs of Safety as its core practice model for children’s social care. This training will explain Signs of Safety and introduce professionals to the tools, language and approach when working with children and families across the safeguarding journey from Early Help, through child protection and to care experienced young people.

Learning Objectives:

  • Basic understanding of the Signs of Safety approach, values, language and tools
  • Understand how Signs of Safety can be applied in different circumstances when working with children and families
  • Feel confident in using elements of the Signs of Safety approach with children and families
  • Feel confident in describing Signs of Safety to colleagues, children and families.

Participants should note that this is not a basic safeguarding training. A basic understanding of child safeguarding is desirable before attending the course.
