An introduction to early help and services available to support families

Why is early help important?

Early Help can offer children the support needed to reach their full potential. It can improve the quality of a child’s home and family life, enable them to perform better at school and support their mental health. (EIF, 2021). Furthermore research shows that that Early Help offered at the right time can:

  • Protect children and young people from harm
  • Improve children’s long term outcomes
  • Reduce the need for a referral to specialist services

Do you want to know more about Herefordshire’s Early Help Offer?

This informal session via TEAMs will give you an introduction to the support available for families in Herefordshire, an opportunity for you to ask questions and share information about the issues you are seeing affecting children in your organisations and what services can help.  We may be joined by a speaker from an organisation that supports families in Herefordshire.

This would be a good session to attend as a precursor to the early help assessment training.
