Venue:

Virtual - Microsoft Teams,

Detail:

This course is for those in management and leadership positions, to understand and reflect on how to create trauma-informed organisations, and support practitioners to be trauma-informed in their practice.

Pre-requisite: Delegates should have already attended Trauma-Informed Practice: Principles and Foundations, or an equivalent, before registering for this course. There is a booking restricting in place on the training system. If you believe that you should be able to register but are not able to, please contact admin.sbu@herefordshire.gov.uk, with brief details of when you attended a foundation-level trauma-informed practice training. We can then book you on the course.

Trauma-informed practice helps practitioners understand how trauma negatively impacts on individuals and communities, and their ability to feel safe or develop trusting relationships with professionals. This understanding enables professionals to adopt trauma-informed approaches that improve the quality of services and individuals’ experiences of using those services, reduces the risk of re-traumatisation, and strengthens relationships, therefore improving outcomes for people.

This is a half-day course and will be delivered virtually (MS Teams) by Safer Together, an expert safeguarding and training organisation.

Aims:

  • To reflect on local systems and frameworks, and understand the barriers that certain organisations and
partnerships face when aiming to become consistently trauma informed,
  • To support organisations and partnerships to identify and evaluate their own Trauma Informed journey and
the changes they may need to make to develop further

Target Audience: This course is for staff or volunteers in management or leadership positions, that work/volunteer with adults and/or children and families in Herefordshire.
